Awana Clubs are an international youth program offered by Slidell Bible Chapel as a positive influence in the development of young people.  The Awana name is derived from a principle in the Bible found in 2nd Timothy 2:15 which reads, "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed." The purpose of Awana is stated best in the pledge to the Awana flag which says, "I pledge allegiance to the Awana flag, which stands for the Awana Clubs, whose goal is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ, and train them to serve Him." The Awana Clubs offer sound biblical instruction, Scripture memory, fun games, great Christian fellowship, and awards for learning and understanding Scripture verses and good sportsmanship. The Awana Clubs that meet at Slidell Bible Chapel are as follows: Sparks -- K (5 years old by Oct. 1)-2nd graders, and Truth & Training -- 3rd-6th graders.
